Announcements for the week of Oct. 2, 2022

  • Myers-Mallory Offering: During September, we held our annual Myers-Mallory Offering to benefit Alabama state missions. We set a goal this year of $1,675 for our church, which will go towards the Alabama state goal of $1,200,000, to help these missionaries spread the Gospel! Amount Given to Date: $1,288.25. You may still make your offering in the offering box in the vestibule, or give now on Tithe.ly using the link below:
  • Sunday School Teacher’s Appreciation Sunday will be Oct. 16. Will will celebrate our Sunday school teachers with a breakfast in their honor at 8:30 a.m. See Jene’ for more information or to volunteer to prepare a dish.
     
  • Sonshiners: The next Sonshiners fellowship will be Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m., in the PBC Fellowship Hall. Soups will be on the menu. Contact Esse for more information.
     
  • Trunk or Treat: Our annual Trunk or Treat will be Sunday, Oct. 30, from 6-8 p.m. Decorate and join us for this fun night of outreach and fellowship. Signups in the Fellowship Hall and sanctuary. Also, we will be collecting candy throughout the months of September and October.
     
  • Baptist Men’s Monthly Breakfast & Fellowship will resume Saturday, Nov. 5, at 7 a.m. Our guest speaker is TBA. All men and boys are encouraged to attend. There is no cost, but donations will be accepted.
     
  • Orphan Care Sunday: Mark your calendars for a special emphasis Sunday, Nov. 6. We will host Rick West, regional director with the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries (ABCHFM) as our keynote speaker. Additionally, we will have a testimony from a foster family and adoptive family, sharing of God’s grace and work through their journeys. After the service, we will move to the Fellowship Hall for lunch and an Orphan Care Q&A. More details to come!

    In anticipation of this special service, we will take up a love offering on Sunday, Oct. 30, during the morning worship service and present that gift to Rick on behalf of ABCHFM.

  • Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Packing Party will be Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the Fellowship Hall. We will meet at 6 p.m. for chili fellowship and begin packing shoeboxes at 6:30 p.m. More details to come in October.
     
  • Youth Conference: The youth will participate in the Pinnacle (formerly D-Now) conference on Nov. 18-19, at Ridgecrest Baptist in Ozark. See David for more information.
     
  • Ministry Needs: We are in need of a few volunteers to fill the following positions:
    • Two volunteers for the fourth Sunday children’s church
    • Nursery workers
    • Outreach Director to oversee the planning of outreach events, development of outreach records, and creation of outreach materials, such as informational brochures and welcome packets.

    * These volunteers must be members of the church, and those who work in the children and youth ministry will need to complete a background check.

  • Committee/Team Meetings: 
         Properties Committee: Sunday, Oct. 2, 3:30 p.m.
     
  • Tuesday Morning Prayer Gathering: Pastor Chris leads a prayer/devotional time at 8 a.m. Tuesdays. During this time, we will specifically seek the Lord’s grace on our church and his power and influence to reach our community. We invite you to join us!
     
  • Music Ministry: If you are interested in being part of our choir or praise team, please see Bro. Kory to find out how you can serve.
     
  • Chest of Joash: During our April business meeting, the church voted and approved the Chest of Joash, an ongoing, freewill offering above and beyond your regular general fund tithe. The funds raised through the Chest of Joash will be divided 70% to the building fund and 30% to the general fund. You may make your offering (designated “Chest of Joash”) in the offering box in the vestibule or give now on Tithe.ly using the link below:

  • Dale Baptist Association News: The DBA is in need of ministry volunteers in two main areas: 1) individuals to serve in the ministry center, and 2) individuals to serve in our associational disaster relief team. For those who are interested in the ministry center, contact Kim at the DBA office, 334-744-2713, or email her at JavaScript required to view Email. For those interested in disaster relief, contact Jim Hill at the DBA office or go to sbdr.org for training information and registration.
     
  • Communications: We are implementing a couple of new forms of communication in addition to the usage of our private Facebook page and church website:
    • REMIND App – To get push notifications on a smartphone or computer, go to remind.com/join/pinckar on your device and follow the instructions to sign up and download the Remind app.

  • Giving: Pinckard Baptist Church relies on our members to support our ministries through continued giving. Please visit the Giving section to see a list of ways you can give your tithes and offerings, or click the button below to give online now using Tithe.ly.

  • Who’s Your One?: I want to encourage you to identify your “one” and make a commitment to pray that they would come to Christ and connect with our church. Additionally, ask the Lord to use you in reaching them!
